NaNoWriMo: The Attorney from São Bento – part 2

Benício was always sad. He considered himself a profoundly sad attorney. He had many clients. But he was sad. His hours was expensive, but he was sad. He was really good looking. But his heart was a heart of a very very sad man. He prayed every morning and every night, but the more he thought his faith should grow, the more the sadness went deeper. Benício didn’t know why he was so sad, but something was saying that he had to be in that situation. He believed in that, although he knew he could be wrong.

“Why should a successful guy be sad like that?”, he was thinking while he went up to the Independence Avenue, one of his favorite places for walking and thinking. There always were many beautiful girls and happy young men walking, talking or eating at the corners of that avenue. He was the only man who was walking alone – at least in that avenue. He was wondering if there were other sad people like him in the world. But, when he asked himself that, he was sure he didn’t want to find them. He wanted just to be less sad. And more happy.
