It’s a matter of culture, I think
While I don’t get any visit to my posts written in English, I write one more post in English. The first one, on this blog, was published some minutes ago. When I tried to visit the tags for knowing about others writing about the same subjects I felt that thing about atmosphere again. It’s completely different to write in other language, because – at least potentially – it opens to a much greater world!
It’s not uncommon to find Brazilian sites and blogs written in English, but I could say that it’s not in our culture to have a close contact to the English language. The language learning here is more present among those who are more close to study. Many people go to English schools, for having more knowledge and MAYBE use what they learned. But, try to have a conversation in English in a party… and you will see everyone blushing and saying “I went to classes, but I’m not so good in English… let’s try another game…”.
It’s a matter of culture, I think.
